The Dover Castle Pub

The Dover Castle has a new landlord, and he comes with the intention of keeping the same great relaxed pub feeling and giving the pub a chance to show its soul again.  You might notice a few changes, both inside and out, accompanied by a warm welcome, great food, great beer and our lovely garden.  We are staying child and dog friendly too…

From 9th August 2010, the beautiful Muesli Mountain Market will be moving in to share the beer garden.  The Market will have less space than it currently has, but will be located right in the middle of our hill providing all the locally sourced, organic Veggies, Fruit, Bread, Eggs, Milk, Wholefoods, Refils and many other treats.  The Market supports local growers, businesses and charities and brings you goodness mixed with a hub for our local community, and it’s right on your doorstep.

The Dover Kitchen is already starting to get its supplies from the market, serving delights from 12pm-3pm and 6pm-9pm weekdays, 12-9 Saturday, and roasts (with 3 veggie options!) from 12pm-8pm (or sold out) Sunday.  The menu is a mix of traditional pub food with modern restaurant quality, moving towards an affordable focus on seasonal, locally sourced, organic dishes.  And topped off with a choice of yummy homemade puddings.

Coffeshop!! With one of the largest sunfilled rooms in Hanover empty every morning, We are very proud to announce that very shortly after the arrival of Muesli Mountain at the Dover, our coffeebar will be serving the best freshly ground, Fairtrade, Organic Coffee from 9am everyday.  We will always have a choice of Homemade cakes, and keep serving all day.  As with the pub, well-behaved children are welcome anytime, but it’ll be time to put toys away at midday.

There is also a growing list of regular things to do: Movie Monday, Muesli Mountain Makers Meeting Tuesday, Board Games (donations welcome), Open Mic night starting soon from 8pm on Sundays, and some sporadic Cocktails Evenings!
